October started with Chub showing under the trees along the conkers at Broxbourne then later on in October anglers started to catch them
up to 4lb.Using  waggler and casters as bait.
There were good numbers of Perch featuring heavily this month along the Towpath Fishery with some good sized fish being caught at Rye House, the biggest reported was caught fishing with lures weighing 3lb15oz. A big 4lb 6oz Perch was caught from the disabled swims behind the Fish and Eel pub at Dobbs Weir on lob worm.
 
October 1st saw more Pike anglers on the Towpath Fishery with some good results so far, a Pike weighing 18lb 2oz was caught between Hertford and Ware on a Herring, suspended under a float, also Pike are being caught at Stanstead Abbotts and the Old Mill at Broxbourne.
Large numbers of very small Jack Pike, around 8-10 inches are being caught all along the River Lea Navigation on different methods and baits, including lures, maggots and worms.
 
Roach are coming out thick and fast between the Nazeing New Road bridge downstream to the rowing club at Broxbourne, some nice Roach of 8-9 inches on bread punch.
 
Carp are still being caught between Hertford and Ware, the biggest at 19lb on boilies.
 
After some heavy rain this month the water colour at Dobbs Weir was quite murky and Barbel were being taken on the feeder with double red maggot ranging from 8oz up to 6lb.
