January was a good month for Perch, Pike and Chub on the Towpath Fishery.
Ware town centre was and still is the place to be for Perch, Pike and Chub, Anglers fishing the Library car park section of the Navigation are catching big Perch up to 4lb 6oz and pike to 14lb 4oz, The large female Pike will start to gather along this section in numbers along with Jack Pike to spawn so good fishing can be had up until the end of the season, Please be very careful if you are lucky enough to catch one of the big Females as these are the future of our sport so return them as quickly as possible to the water.
Anglers fishing with lures along the Ware section are being rewarded with some nice Chub with the biggest going 5lb 4oz.
Broxbourne is fishing well for Chub and Perch, Anglers fishing the conkers section are catching some nice Chub on Wag and Mag or feeder technique using red maggot, One angler banked 5 Chub in a session ranging from 4lb 2oz up to 6lb 2oz.
Fishing the lower end of the Towpath fishery near Wharf Road produce a surprise for one angle, while Fishing for Chub on the feeder the anglers rod bent round and about 20 minuets latter he netted a 23lb Common Carp which fell for double red maggot.
