the Ware angling club website is an advertisement for the club, it is a point of contact for potential new members who can browse our waters, obtain details of membership costs. it is also for 3rd party interest who wish to contact us for general enquiries and for other clubs looking to rent our waters or speak to us regarding match enquiries etc.

we do not share internal club matters on the open website, we do however have social media for up to minute live updates on all of our waters. i will however give a brief overview of where we are as a club at this present time.

Roydon Marina, this venue is a residential/Hospitality site and is very strictly monitored by the local authorities. due to the nature of this venue whenever Roydon is placed into a tier whereby the residential/hospitality sections are affected it will close for fishing. all other venues are currently unaffected and we as a club are working to the guidelines set up by the angling trust which can be found on their website.

we hope you have enjoyed your fishing in 2020 and i hope that fishing has brought some relief from what has been a challenging year for all of us

we wish you all the best for 2021

ok here is the latest advice at 19:00 on 12/05/20. this advice is subject to change at any time due to the nature of the national situation on the virus and fishing in general.

NO Night fishing on ANY venue - (until further notice)

CLUB TICKETS - all members are to have their tickets already out ready for inspection. and they should be available to a bailiff to inspect 2m away from you. in a bag on a pole. or in a bag under a stone etc. I'm sure you can work something out.
(bailiffs should not have to wait for you to search your kit for your tickets)

we are going to be very active, vigilant and strict over this period of time. safety is paramount. and breaking the rules is not acceptable.

Pretty lake - open from 13/05/20. there are 20 swims only available. please read the 2 new signs at the venue regarding covid19. if there are no available swims. please leave site immediately and return on another day. take note on main board of closed swims.
Tumbling bay - open from 13/05/20. NO NIGHT FISHING. dawn to dusk only. please be careful at this lake as the water level is about 2 foot higher than usual and swims are affected. please read the 2 new signs at the lake entrance near the weirpool.
Timberlands - open from 13/05/20 - pre bookings by TEXT message only NOT calls. do not just turn up.
Roydon - the marina is still in lock down and have a meeting with the local council on Thursday to look at next steps. they are not against our return but we must wait until Friday for the updated position for this venue. DO NOT TURN UP AND FISH

Ware Angling Clubng your update here...

As you are all aware Fishing has been given the green light from Wednesday 13th May from the government. This is great news for all of us.

We will ensure our venues are back open at the earliest opportunity. We do however rent all of our waters (we do not own them) with different owners on various agreements. We will have to ensure we have their blessing which will require any required covid19 measures to be put in place.

we are making contact with our landlords to get our venues open as soon as we can. Some of these are on lockdown themselves currently and have been uncontactable during these times.

I am expecting each venue will be unique each requiring different considerations. Some may not want us back yet. This may be much easier for private fisheries/owned venues but for us it’s quite complex. And it’s unlikely to be a specific date/single solution for all venues.

This does NOT mean you can turn up to any ware angling venue from Wednesday onwards and fish. This could severely damage the clubs relationship with these venues going forward. this is illegal.

I can assure you that we are working on this. safety must remain as the highest priority along with assurances for the landlords, bailiffs and you the members.
Please remember also to renew you rod licences if you have not already. And consider joining the angling trust who have worked hard on our behalf to get angling reinstated.

We are all eager to get bank on the bank
We will keep you in the loop as we progress

Kind regards

Ware Angling Clubng your update here...
Ware Angling Club has suspended all fishing activity in line with the government, NHS and Angling authority's advice. we will of course be monitoring the situation like everyone else on a day to day basis. the waiting list is still open, renewals are still open also for existing members.

I would like to think that once the government start to relax the current lockdown that fishing would be one of the low risk activities that will be reinstated.

but until such time we will as a club continue to align ourselves with the Government, NHS and Angling authorities and continue the suspension until we are advised otherwise.

once we reach this stage we can then and only then start looking at the effects this has had on fishing in general, the club and its membership.

please stay safe everyone and focus on the key message at this time
