A new bailiff has been appointed by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority to oversee the angling at their day Ticket Fisheries known as Banjo Lake and Stock Pit, Marsh Lane, Stanstead Abbotts, Herts, SG12 8HL. Ware Angling Club; Today 16th December 2013 the Environment Agency stocked 1,000 Dace, 500 roach and 400 chub into the Old River Lea, at Star Street Ware, Herts. These fish were from the EA's own hatchery. The fish were second year fish. Photo's to follow
TOWPATH BAILIFF 2 Chub caught on the conkers at Broxbourne today 3-4lb on wag & mag.

The early part of November saw some heavy rain which in turn produced a lot of colour in the water and caused the river levels to rise, much to the delight of the Barbel. Dobbs Weir produced a number of good Barbel on boilies and luncheon meat to 10lb1oz, some big Bream were also being caught in Dobbs Weir up to 12lb6oz fishing the feeder with red maggot. Carp were showing themselves along the Towpath Fishery; one was caught in the Hardmead Lock area around 14lb which fell for a rubber shad lure, and one 6lb Common was tempted at Rye House with a tiny piece of bread punch. The Old Mill pool at Broxbourne has started producing large numbers of small Roach which are being caught on bread punch or single red maggot on the pole. As winter draws in the Chub along the conkers stretch at Broxbourne are starting to show, one angler fishing the wag and mag bagged a total of 12 Chub ranging from 2lb up to 6lb, meanwhile other anglers are fishing the tip with liquidized bread in the feeder and flake as hook bait which are producing Chub to 6lb3oz. Large numbers of Perch are being caught at Stanstead Abbotts falling to lures and baits. Fields Weir has produced some Pike to 8lb but the best Pike this month which fell for dead bait was caught in Dobbs Weir a magnificent 28lb fish.

TOWPATH BAILIFF a 10lb4oz Pike was caught at Rye House today on dead bait also some fantastic Perch still being caught at Stanstead Abbotts today I witnessed 4 weighing in at 3lb2oz 3lb6oz 3lb8oz and 3lb11oz.
Wednesday afternoon a fantastic pike weighing in at 28lb was caught in Dobbs Weir on a dead bait.

3 Pike caught today at Stanstead Abbotts between 6-8lb on dead bait, also a very nice Perch weighing in at 3lb12oz on a lure.

5 Chub up to 5lb and a 18lb Carp were caught today on the Broxbourne Meadows stretch of the Towpath Fishery all on the feeder with bread flake.
October started with Chub showing under the trees along the conkers at Broxbourne then later on in October anglers started to catch them
up to 4lb.Using  waggler and casters as bait.
There were good numbers of Perch featuring heavily this month along the Towpath Fishery with some good sized fish being caught at Rye House, the biggest reported was caught fishing with lures weighing 3lb15oz. A big 4lb 6oz Perch was caught from the disabled swims behind the Fish and Eel pub at Dobbs Weir on lob worm.
October 1st saw more Pike anglers on the Towpath Fishery with some good results so far, a Pike weighing 18lb 2oz was caught between Hertford and Ware on a Herring, suspended under a float, also Pike are being caught at Stanstead Abbotts and the Old Mill at Broxbourne.
Large numbers of very small Jack Pike, around 8-10 inches are being caught all along the River Lea Navigation on different methods and baits, including lures, maggots and worms.
Roach are coming out thick and fast between the Nazeing New Road bridge downstream to the rowing club at Broxbourne, some nice Roach of 8-9 inches on bread punch.
Carp are still being caught between Hertford and Ware, the biggest at 19lb on boilies.
After some heavy rain this month the water colour at Dobbs Weir was quite murky and Barbel were being taken on the feeder with double red maggot ranging from 8oz up to 6lb.
